Can someone tell me which Nvidia version I need to install to get a graphical login? I'd rather not patch the installer if possible.

which you may have to continue unless you patch. nvidia has not provided an upgraded package yet for 4.10+ (or whoever it is that builds the package has not).
i was unable to patch the run file but had no problem patching after i expanded it. i install using "nvidia-installer -aqs". works
I was able to figure out how to patch the needed files, with the help of Peter (Pit), and I'm now running with the 378.09 driver. As soon as I compile a list of what steps I took I will post the steps here.
