Done. Bug 1009493
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1009493
Problem found: on 42.2 you can not install using labels. Install using uuids (the default), and when system boots, change manually (not with yast) to label.
I wonder when it began, and whether things I do differently constitute a workaround. I don't remember how long ago I last did a 42.2 installation, but almost certainly sometime between two and four weeks ago. I always set the default mount-by to label, but as I always partition, format and label in advance, maybe it's why no crash for me, since all I'm doing with the partitioner is specifying mount points and options. I proceeded to begin another installation my way. No crash. Bug report updated. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
