Posting here wasn't intended as a complaint, but an offering of awareness
This is still the wrong place to raise such an awareness IMHO.
Where is the "right" place? I doubt it's of any concern to users of Gnome, its forks, or other non-QT DEs.
Those "Mozilla apps" are not maintained by the KDE team and have no relation to KDE (other than Firefox being used as default browser in a KDE installation).
that hopefully would serve to result either in a relnote on the soon release of 42.2 if it's to be released with Mozilla apps built with their GTK3 defaults, continuing to build with GTK2 until a fix shows up, or offering a choice between GTK2 and GTK3 builds of Mozilla apps.
The Mozilla apps are still being built with GTK2 in openSUSE, and in 42.2 in particular.
While that's surely nice for others, I run 5 or more different Mozillas at the same time virtually always, including various pre-releases, so exclusively using Mozillas from openSUSE repos is not an option available here. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
