is there a leap 42.1 repository where I could get a Perl version newer than 5.18 (which is already a few years old)? I'm bitten by a regexp bug
Perl in Leap comes from SLE. You may try filing a bug report to get the fix backported.
Ok, will probably do. However, in most cases, there are some (more or less) private repositories for Leap that hold recent versions of often used tools like Perl. It seems such a repo is missing – hopefully it's just me who can't find it, and you are able to point me to it :-)
