Hi,
Do you think we could manage to push the current Base:System/util-linux to Leap 42.2? Most important thing for me would be finally to use last(1) from ul instead of the unmaintained sysvinit's one.
The current 42.2 ul sources (2.28) plus patches do not differ much against unpatched 2.28.2.
Technically, I have not a problem with that. But from the maintenance perspective it will add work. util-linux in SLE12 SP2 will get regular maintenance updates. If Leap 42.2 will not diverge, Leap will get them for free. If it will, Leap would need separate porting. That is why I recommend to keep them the same. On the other hand, backporting of 2.28 patches to 2.28.2 should not be a big deal. Maybe it could be possible to make some %if 0%{?is_opensuse} to the common spec file, but I am afraid that it is too late for such change few days before Gold Master Candidate. -- Best Regards / S pozdravem, Stanislav Brabec software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: sbrabec@suse.com Křižíkova 148/34 (Corso IIa) tel: +49 911 7405384547 186 00 Praha 8-Karlín fax: +420 284 084 001 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ PGP: 830B 40D5 9E05 35D8 5E27 6FA3 717C 209F A04F CD76 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
