Hi all,
I am wondering why wine-32bit is installed on a 64-bit system by doing a "zypper in wine"? Does anybody know that? It pulls in a lot of 32- bit packages.
Windows still base itself on 32bit apps. I suppose wine still is by default win32 "emulator" and thus by default you get the 32bit version.
well, not exactly. Windows applications can be either 32bit or 64bit. A large set is still 32bit. So wine comes in two packages. wine for 64bit applications wine-32bit for 32bit applications. wine-32bit could be left out, but a large number of windows apps would not run.
