Hi list, So I've got an nVidia adapter and I'm using proprietary drivers maintained by @sndirsch. I'm not following driver updates closely and am updating them occasionally, mostly after I upgrade kernel and find drivers broken. Which happened yesterday (kernel got bumped to v4.4.1), so I've updated working copy of package, rebuilt RPMs, installed them, rebooted PC and got black screen instead of GDM prompt. Journald logs didn't have anything concerning except systemd-modprobe warning "Process 1729 (gnome-shell) of user 483 dumped core." by systemd-coredump. The backtrace it provides is this:
(gdb) bt #0 0x00007f6fe0062ce5 in center_pointer (backend=0xd258d0 [MetaBackendX11]) at backends/meta-backend.c:106 #1 0x00007f6fe006eb36 in meta_backend_x11_post_init (backend=0xd258d0 [MetaBackendX11]) at backends/x11/meta-backend-x11.c:499 #2 0x00007f6fe0094a32 in meta_init () at core/main.c:358 #3 0x00000000004020c2 in main (argc=1, argv=0x7ffdf227d208) at main.c:437
Also gdb prints following warning while loading coredump:
warning: Could not load shared library symbols for 7 libraries, e.g. /usr/X11R6/lib64/libEGL.so.1. not sure if that's related
I've rolled back to 352.79 which runs fine so far. So is it just me or is someone else affected? Thanks. -- Regards, Andrei Dziahel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
