I actually like that stuff does not lie around just because of lazy maintainers but is this really how it's supposed to work? It seems I simply should drop my maintainer role for this package.
Even better: Make YYYYY bugowner of that package.
That does not fix any bugs. Perhaps the UI needs to display that a given pkg in prj has a maintainer set. It could be as simple as converting the string "Accept" into "Accept even if I'm not listed as maintainer of $pkg"..
