I quite like the idea of adding a more Generic 'Server' installation scenario that includes YaST and maybe other common server tool packages right out of the box
The pattern was called "Minimum (Server Only)" in 13.2 - removing stuff like firewall and yast (I don't know what else wasn't installed) makes it too minimum to be really useful, I think.
But I like the fact that our Minimal installation is now much more true to the term - it's been proven to be very useful for my personal VM server where I'm using lots of small Tumbleweed VM images for various services, and because I'm using Saltstack and other DevOps/Cloudy tools I do not need YaST on there.
Possibly not the most generic usage for the minimum pattern, I dunno. Anyway, just shows that TW is not really for me :-)
More likely that particular pattern install is "not really for ...".
I've been using that pattern for years, probably ten or more. There has occasionally been debate about what the minimum server-only pattern is really for, but it's always worked very well. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.4°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
