Well, speaking of kernel, the biggest problem to take SLE12 version is the lack of hardware support, particularly the graphics. If you have a laptop younger than two or three years old, you have little chance to make it running with 42 in native graphics. Similarly, most of new WiFi chips won't work with 42.
