Hi, I would like to introduce a new package to Factory: bats (Bash Automated Testing System) Bats is a TAP-compliant (http://testanything.org/) testing framework for Bash. It provides a simple and repeatable way to verify that the UNIX programs you write behave as expected. A Bats test file is a Bash script with special syntax for defining test cases. Under the hood, each test case is just a function with a description. Bats is most useful when testing software written in Bash, but you can use it to test any UNIX program. The upstream project is stable, and quite mature. There have been 5 releases since December 2011. The purpose of having bats in openSUSE is: -other packages in Factory can declare bats as a build requirement, and run bats unit tests as part of their build on OBS. (The bats package tests itself in this way.) -ease of installation ("zypper in bats" is easier to remember than the URL for cloning the repository off GitHub), and sharing of a single installation.
