[07-31-14 16:53]: Hello all,
Recently I've been having problems with VLC initializing with it's interface. I can start it up using "cvlc" from konsole. Using openSUSE 13.1.
This is copied from konsole:
vlc VLC media player 2.1.5 Rincewind (revision 2.1.4-49-gdab6cb5) [0x7fd4b8021318] qt4 generic error: cannot start Qt multiple times [0x19f6828] skins2 interface error: no suitable dialogs provider found (hint: compile the qt4 plugin, and make sure it is loaded properly) [0x19f6828] skins2 interface error: cannot instantiate qt4 dialogs provider [0x19f6828] main interface error: no suitable interface module [0x19e23b8] main interface error: no suitable interface module [0x18a60b8] main libvlc error: interface "globalhotkeys, none" initialization failed [0x19f6828] [cli] lua interface: Listening on host "*console". [0x18a60b8] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface. [0x19526d8] qt4 interface error: cannot start Qt multiple times Segmentation fault
You don't possibly have both videolan and packman providing vlc? Causes major problems.
Whew! Everything is fixed. I had mistakenly added too many repos during my initial installation. Before running my updates first -I updated to KDE4.13.3 first. Now that I have reinstalled in the correct order everything is running a-okay. Thank you for your help. Cheers!
