: Hi.
I'm updating the Spanish wiki (English page needs a cleanup too) and I'd appreciate if someone can confirm if I'm choosing the right repos because I'm not familiarized with GNOME.
Hi! Thanks for your efforts on this
- openSUSE Factory => The 'Base' distribution repository we develop for
The Factory repository, I suppose:
right, in fact you would need to add the repository http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/
- GNOME:Factory => latest STABLE GNOME Version
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/Factory/openSUSE_Factory/
That's the one
- GNOME:Next => This is where all the fun happens now: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/Next/openSUSE_Factory/
Also correct
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/Medias/images/iso/?P=GNO ME_ Next*
And I'd like to know it these repositories are still in use/valid:
I think this is in use:
This is still being used; it is Applications 'more or less related' to the GNOME Desktop (in most cases 'less').
It is currently not building for 'GNOME Next' as a base, but this should hopefully also not be needed. The target 'openSUSE_Factory' should be sufficient.
This is empty:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/Backports:/Factory/
We try to use this as little as possible, and usually with packages only impacting the build, but not the installation on the machines... so users should not ever have a need to add this repository.
GNOME:STABLE: this containts an updated version for 12.3 and 13.1 relative to the version shipped with these releases. What is its role now that we have GNOME:Next?
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/STABLE:/3.8/openSUSE_12.3 / http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/STABLE:/3.12/openSUSE_13. 1/ Those stay valid as they are and this will continue: GNOME:STABLE:* is to provide 'latest stable release for the latest release of openSUSE'; GNOME:Next is a development branch aimed at inclusion into Factory (the rolling release).
At the point where GNOME:Next reaches 'stable' versions, we will evaluate efforts to branch it off for the latest released version of openSUSE (13.1 at this moment).
Hope that helps you.
Best regards, Dominique
Hi. Thank you! Now I've got it clear and the Spanish wiki is up to date. Sadly, I don't dare to update the English page too because my English is quite bad and I could choose the wrong words and lead to a disaster :( Greetings. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
