[2014-05-11 11:59]: Hi.
We should replace Beaver, the default (early) advanced editor for LXDE, with Mousepad. Reasons are: No, we shouldn't. Mousepad does not have any upstream maintainer (Nick just released a snapshot of the repo one and a half years ago) and the version in X11:xfce is an unfinished, unstable development snapshot which I have intentionally not submitted back into Factory.
And how about geany? Is it unmaintained too? It is still a light alternative. I've been using it in a netbook for a while and it starts fast and works fine. To me it is better than a broken Beaver even if it uses more memory.
Yes, for a GTK-based desktop like LXDE or Xfce geany, leafpad, or gedit should be reasonable choices. -- Guido Berhoerster -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
