Your thunderbird uses OpenGL? Mine doesn't. ;-(.... I can run firefox and mozilla remotely... almost reasonable speed, they don't generate the same messages nor operate at 8FPS... It's the Remote OpenGL that doesn't work. Many desktops use OpenGL for the various effects -- transparency, motion, among others.
