Yes, in this case, mobile users will certainly need networkmanager which handles this correctly.
Well, even without networkmanager, if the stack isn't able to handle
wifi not being available anymore (imagine you attach your laptop to a
leopard or you run very quickly outside of the wifi zone), there is a
much bigger issue. In that regard, suspend/hibernate hacks shouldn't be
needed.
