I notice that no one is saying it will be on the level of configurability as the kernel....i.e. sounds more like you take the whole thing or you are on your own.
On a systemd-centered distribution, you ARE on your own if you try something else instead - just like you are on your own if you want to maintain KDE3 for opensuse-recent. As this is the factory list: I currently don't see any reason to have opensuse-next use anything else than systemd (resorting to init scripts where no unit file is provided - I see no reason to rush or enforce this at the cost of scaring developers) as the default and supported control mechanism. -- Ralf Lang Linux Consultant / Developer Tel.: +49-170-6381563 Mail: lang@b1-systems.de B1 Systems GmbH Osterfeldstraße 7 / 85088 Vohburg / http://www.b1-systems.de GF: Ralph Dehner / Unternehmenssitz: Vohburg / AG: Ingolstadt,HRB 3537
