Because it is a RESCUE CD _only_. Why would you want to install the rescue CD? Absolutely no installer is required.
Reinstall is often part of a system rescue, so it seems appropriate to me. The network install does not install the network CD either, just a full install over network, launched from the CD.
I agree. We need lots more repair/restore tools geared towards openSUSE. Possibly some cloning tool with a gui?
That would be nice, although things do not go wrong that often, but just in case :-)
Regards,
You are right. It should offer this feature if all else fails. If you happen to find an older openSUSE 11.3 DVD, they had a feature that ran fsck, fixed Grub and checked the integrity of all packages installed from the DVD. I'll have to find the DVD and check. This "fix your system" would have been part of the DVD had some one stepped up to maintain it. Nobody stepped up to maintain and fix bugs and it was removed. -- Cheers!
