Well SUSE team you've done a stirling effort with 12.3! Just booted up RC2 to find that my bug in Beta and RC1 where incorrect power stats where provided has been squashed - https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804197 linux@linux:~> acpi -V Battery 0: Discharging, 65%, 01:57:34 remaining Battery 0: design capacity 5600 mAh, last full capacity 5055 mAh = 90% Adapter 0: off-line Thermal 0: ok, 51.5 degrees C Thermal 0: trip point 0 switches to mode critical at temperature 99.0 degrees C Cooling 0: Processor 0 of 3 Cooling 1: Processor 0 of 3 Cooling 2: Processor 0 of 3 Cooling 3: Processor 0 of 3 Cooling 4: LCD 6 of 15 Cooling 5: LCD 6 of 15 Now the only persistent bug is in vgaswitcheroo, which seems to be confined to the 3.7.xxx kernel series. I have updated my openSUSE 12.2 Tumbleweed install to 3.8 Kernel Desktop and found that vgaswitcheroo now successfully switches off my discrete AMD GPU. If switcheroo was working correctly i would expect the above command to provide a battery time estimate of > 5 hours. I'm not suggesting this is a problem that needs to be dealt with, this will be resolved on the next Kernel update. A few other comments: 1. I noticed that the boot time of the KDE Live image was fast! 2. I like the artwork, although have to get used to dark theme. 3. The KDE live image has a great selection of applications, including Libreoffice and Digikam. I won't need to download the full DVD now.
