That's violates the GPL.
The gdbm-devel package has the dbm_open call. If you install the source RPM with "zypper si samba" you get all the required packages needed for build. If you want to do it manually, grep the spec file for BuildRequires and be sure you only get the ones that are %if defined for your version of openSUSE. zypper will do it for you automatically. You then do "rpmbuild -bb /usr/src/packages/SPECS/samba.spec" and it builds to completion.
