Well, the purpose of the survey is to know what input method

for Japan, YES. because MOZC, we all know.

for Chinese, we'll replace scim/ibus or both with users' top choice.

but for Japan, eg, we'll ship MOZC in DVD, but default still IBus.

In the current situation, we don't have mozc on DVD but only on online
repos.  The situation regarding mozc should be discussed again in
opensuse-ja ML.

Takashi

yes, I only sent 3 SRs to M17N.

1. drag GCIN into DVD (accepted by lin)
2. drop scim from DVD (main-package)

Takashi, do I have to remove every Provides: locale(scim: ja/zh/kr)
thing from scim sub-packages based on scim?

If we want to drop the automatic installation of scim, then yes.
OTOH, installing scim doesn't hurt except for some disk spaces once
when you adjust the priority of other IMs correctly.

So, I'd suggest to keep it until other tasks are done.

Takashi

so maybe I should take it carefully. like just removing all zh strings
from Provides....so it won't hurt and in DVD(because ja/ko still
Provides), old users can select then.

Well, now ibus has provdies already since 12.1, thus removing from
scim should be harmless. If you work on it, just rip off all
locales.

but like you said. keep it until other tasks are done. even if one
single Chinese vote for SCIM, I have to keep all the zh strings...

Yeah, dropping the locale provides is easy, can be done at last.
Let's continue working on setting up others more useful, then think of
dropping.

thanks,

Takashi
