The author of the previous link missed one change that was needed for my system. If you go the http://www.lwfinger.com/nvidia_patches, you will find a patch file to build Nvidia driver 295.33 using kernels 3.3 or 3.4-rc1. There is also a README.txt that tells you what steps to take.
