I wonder if the testing included testing of a dual boot of 12.1 with legacy 
grub + 12.2/factory with grub2.

That's how I do my factory testing. And it would be good to know in advance if 
installing some 12.2 milestone in dualboot with 12.1 will "break" the 12.1 
boot, or if some fiddling will be required, or if it should "just work".
