That particular reason does not explain why it wouldn't switch to tty7
*after* early boot (where encrypted volumes get mounted), to display
[KGX]DM.
You don't want the flicker to happen. Try it and see for yourself, it's
not like decisions like this are made for no good reason...
The flicker *shouldn't* be any worse than pressing ctrl+alt+Fn to
switch to another tty.
Now, what should be and what is don't always match.
