what of the many different "init process" is documented, fedora, debian, opensuse ..etc all use different init systems.
Has anybody written a book for the beginner programmer to explain how OpenSuSE booting with SYSTEMD differs markedly from all those Linux

Personally I don't like the idea of one process seeking to do so many things -
who told you that ? systemd does not do all its work in PID 1.. it has aux processes for that.
My concern is that if OpenSuSE drop support for SysVInit before there are adequate descriptions of SYSTEMD in programmers books.
Does any of those books describe the suse boot process ? hint, it is not the same of fedora, ubuntu, debian etc,,
then I expect future programmers will develop for Gentoo, Arch etc. rather than OpenSuSE.
That is non-sense.
You create a barrier with those who aim to develop in future.
No.
Finally, Lennart Poettering's attitude to other developers is frankly quite abusive -
See, this is what criticism of systemd is all about, personal attacks, same thing about the /usr merge. and I think that too is likely to see somebody else
develop a better alternative to SYSTEMD..
I personally don't think so. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
