Really?
Such as it is at the moment, yes. Even users who _do_ contribute seem to carry very little weight with the openSUSE project. The issue is that there is no such entity: "the opensuse Project". Like I wrote on opensuse-general not long ago, at best we have cooperation, certainly not orchestration.
Sad
Does the project's direction and goals stay the same if all servers move out of openSUSE?
Does anybody care?
Well, to put the discussion on-topic, from the comments everywhere, if systemd is pushed right now and sysvinit removed, lots of sysadmins will care. Especially sysadmins that value the overall openSUSE distribution, since it *is* valuable, and one misbehaving system, especially this critical system, can kill it on the datacenter. So yes, somebody cares. I wouldn't mind adopting systemd on a desktop, maybe enhancing systemd in the process, through bug reports and perhaps patches (maybe, if they're in the mood of accepting enhancements, which they don't seem to). On a server it's a different tune. So I wouldn't be surprised if datacenters rejected such a release.
