You can try with systemd.log_target=console to get the debug on the console (see man systemd for the various values).
But then boot.msg doesn't get any log. I did that and the file is not touched. I have tried it, and the output is a bit more verbose, but it is useless in runlevel 5, because the terminal switches to graphical mode quick, and later virtual terminal 1 is erased. In runlevel 3 it stalls for half a minute and I can't see what it is doing. I would have to record in video what it does to try find out.
It is a rather complicated syntax. I would need another computer or a paper booklet.
Or use the "old" syntax..
Some of it. splash=verbose doesn't work as before. And writing those tokens at the grub screen is difficult if you don't have a US keyboard, because the location of '-' and '_' are changed. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
