Are you sure this is not possible with traditional init scripts? I can't
see a reason why it wouldn't.

My customers will love to see this in SLES.

Actually, the idea of having systemd in SLES is what really frightens
me. If the experience with systemd in OpenSuSE 12.1 helps to prevent
that, there might be some good from it after all.
