Runlevel 3 works from grub by just typing a 3, I get text mode. But the
boot apparently stalls for a minute or so, compared with the astonishing
speed of runlevel 5. It must be working on something, but systemd prints
very little to the screen compared with the traditional verbose boot.

Once started, init 5 also works. But a subsequent "init 3" from inside
gnome (or outside) fails.

Also, an init 5 when already in runlevel 5 crashes the session and you get
the graphical login screen again.

All these different behaviours should be documented quick, before release,
by somebody who knows it - ie, a dev. How can the volunteers hope to help
the crowds if we have no reference?
