Patrick, maybe trying with "i8042.reset=1" and "i8042.nomux=1" (boot parameters for the kernel) might help, just for the case it is not the hardware (which still seems to be correctly recognized by the kenel...)
Thanks for all the help. update: stupid pbkac error! touchpad was disabled via <function-key><f7> keyboard/laptop functions that I have not every used and have no idea how it was enabled/????. On a lark I just tried it and it worked and I feel embarassed. again, thanks everyone for the assistance and a virtual "Dos XX" on me. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
