Any ideas?
if you run the opensuse binaries, simply execute /etc/init.d/vboxdrv start
or
cd /etc/init.d
/vboxdrv setup

and remember to complain on virtualbox upstream so they provide a
non-init.d way to rebuild their modules..

Or openSUSE uses similar to Debian, Ubuntu and most likely other
distributions a module-assistant, DKMS and similar which compiles
external modules from source against the current Kernel after
installation, and don't ship precompiled external modules.
That would also make installing a different Kernel much easier.
