Hello,
I have some troubles using lilo with the kernel
kernel-default-3.1.rc7-3.1 that comes with 12.1 beta1.
I run into the error:
Fatal: Setup length exceeds 31 maximum; kernel setup will overwrite
boot loader.
When I increase verbose level to maximum I got information
that it has 33 sectors, so is bigger then maximum.
After some investigation I have found that other Linux distributions
have run into this issue and the LILO development teem already
corrected in the latest release:

I would kindly ask the responsible maintainer to include the latest
lilo release into the upcoming opensuse releases.
I am not the maintainer, but I've been trying to get the new lilo to
build since July - it doesn't build for SLES_11_SP1 and openSUSE 11.3,
which is basically where I am stuck. I received a couple of hints on
the packaging list, but either I didn't follow them correctly or they
didn't work.
