Wow, we have one willing to work on the setup of a suse.com bugzilla
including the migration of the old bugs, and most important maintaining
it the next five, ten, or even more years!

I always welcome such a strong commitment to the project!

Sorry kids, what's wrong with bugzilla.novell.com? Despite the fact
that it uses the novell.com domain name?

nothing.

A bug tracker, is a bug tracker is a bug tracker.

And in this case it's all Open Source Software. From the operating
system, to the web server, and the tracker.

A new system very likely would run in the same datacenter inside of the
same AS.

What are the benefits beside one person less complaining?

Compared to the tradeoff that we have to maintain two bug reporting
systems?

Has any of the whining ever had to maintain systems? In particular a
bug tracker? Ever tried to get something like the beloved "needinfo by"
feature upstream?

Lars, no one´s complaining about the current situation. It was just a normal question because the typical marketing echo from the SUSE/Novell guys is that they tell us that SUSE and Novell are divorced and the both companies are going there one ways now.

So, the question was legitimate.

Sorry to hit with my fist in your Sunday cream cake. But you better get
your asbestos protected cloth on before you try to pie on this piece of
grass.

Yes, there is one point which needs to be addressed. The failing
authentication from time to time. That's really annoying. But that
wouldn't very, very likely be different for a bugzilla operated under
the suse.com domain.

I'm happy to focus on real issues.

I guess we´re all happy to focus on real issues, no doubt about it. However, it was just a question regarding our "corporate identity" if you want to call it that way...
