Because your algorithm is completely wrong.

As proof of that, why not look at the HAL code for how it does the logic
of detecting the drive type.  As you are replacing the HAL code, it
probably would be best if you copy how it works pretty identically in
order to ensure that everything works the same.

I still can not understand why what we have previously explained has not
