Something screwed up your end if you have them as separate files. Can't 
figure what happens your end.
# l /usr/lib64/libz.*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 403722 Aug 29 08:15 /usr/lib64/libz.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     20 Aug 30 16:08 /usr/lib64/libz.so -> 
/lib64/libz.so.1.2.5

BTW, C&P into the emails rather than creating a file then attaching it 
as the attachment disappears from the replies as you can see here so no 
one immediately understands what I'm replying to.
