AFAIK gzip's determinism is the the only reason why it was possible to
implement --rsyncable.
Did you try if pigz is deterministic?
It could be deterministic, only different than gzip.
There is no reason for it not to be deterministic.
There is lots of reasons for it to be different than gzip, though.
