as this is the community edition, I don't think we have to deal with Oracle in

I would rather drop mysql-community-server than mariadb which is
esentially an improved version of the former that uses either backports
or custom tailored fixes.
Possible, I don't have a preference between those two, except that the mariadb

Not having to deal with Oracle is also a plus. ;)
