I've always used bleeding edged even at work where I needed 24/7 fully functionality. Except for the upgrade to Milestone 1 where I had to sculpt a workaround to get a desktop running on one box, SuSE 6.x right up to 12.1 Milestone 3 have been solid. I run lots of 3rd party software that's at the heart of what I do daily and I find that the incremental changes are no problem - zypper dup is done many times weekly. Linux has always introduced and discarded packages, kernels undergo significant changes, 32-bit to 64-bit, hardware upgrades have joined in the mix but 6 boxes with different hardware just carry on solidly working whatever I throw at them. Over quite some time I've seen the number of bugs to the list decrease markedly and I mostly see posts about what should go into the next release. If there is some dastardly plot to make my boxes unworkable, openSUSE has so far failed. Linus said "Be Happy" and I am happy. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
