The new version of Opensuse, will offer a decent audio mixer under KDE4?
I'm using SuSE, from the version 6.3, and in alll versions, the audio mixer hate plenty controls, but now with Opensuse 11.4, the audio mixer (kmix, or alsamixer), when I try to add more channels (the real channels of the audio card), it fails to add channels, and with proffessional audio cards like ESI waveterminal 192M, only I can hear the right channel.

I am not sure if this will be of help to you but I always have a problem with my Audigy sound card - and it's all because of pulseaudio. Have you tried this: * in YaST, under Sound deselect pulseaudio in the Other options (bottom right); * install alsamixer and run it on a command line (in a terminal; * press F6 to select your audio card, then press F5 to see all the available channels; * use "m" to mute/unmute a channel, and use the up/down keys to raise lower the volume; * when doing the above it always helps to have something running which outputs sound so that you can hear which channels are operating when you use "m" key.
