Some observations:
Put the ISO file onto a USB stick via dd and tested install on a Dell Mini 10.
[snip]
- Install procedure drops out of YaST and puts me into some kind of "secondary" mode where I have to select the device to install from and specify the location of the sources. Not sure whet to do with this one. I suppose it should be a bug but it is hard to explain what's going on and I have no time to reproduce the steps to give better explanation, sorry.
Are you installing from the DVD ISO or the LiveCD? If from the DVD ISO, this is "normal" because it seems that no one involved in the DVD builds thinks that making the DVD ISO a hybrid (like the LiveCDs) is a good idea. Not sure why... there was a discussion about this on the mailing list, and an openFATE https://features.opensuse.org/310123 that was opened and closed as complete (although the "solution was about Kiwi which had nothing to do with the original openFATE). This is an annoyance - not a major issue - when you install from the DVD ISO from USB, it fails during the GUI install and drops to text mode. You have to select "Back" to return to the beginning of the install. When you restart the install, you have to select to install from a hard drive, select the USB stick, and then tell it to install from the root of the USB stick. The install will continue at this point and should complete normally.
