the kernel-default-3.0.rc6-2.2.x86_64 Oops is https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=705085
and using a different Base:System or other kernel (vanilla or rc7 from Kernel:HEAD) helped.
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/76287 means that we will have 3.0-rc7 in Factory soon, which should allow for a nice MS3.
I've just installed M3 on one of my laptops and it's working fine (on Kernel 3.0-rc 7)... all previous boot issues discussed here seem to be fixed. I did run into one bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=702461 Switching to Traditional ifup in YaST Network is a reasonable workaround until the bug is fixed.
