Hi,
the vmwgfx driver is becoming ready for testing ; this vmware written video
driver is targeting virtualised system running on a vmware virtualisation tool.
With the right Mesa gallium component, it enables 3D acceleration on
virtualised guest, using host hardware (from windows or linux system).
Is it possible to enable the kernel module for VMWGFX to be built ? It might
help testing gnome-shell (with mutter ux) safely inside a vmware box.
Vincent
I'd like to hear from someone from VMWare before we do this. In the past, they've specifically asked us *not* to enable the driver in favor of using their own. These requests were explicitly for both SLE* and openSUSE.
