Again I needed to reload openSuSE 11.4 because a NET load of 12.1 failed
to boot. What failed was Desktop however, failsafe would boot. I think
it was a option in /boot/grub/menu.lst that this unit did not like. Now
I have 11.4 up again and it works ok, but it has NO hostname in a login
screen or uname -a . Yet /etc/HOSTNAME is set and /etc/hosts is correct
and all entries in it can be reached with ping. Yast2 was checked for a
Hostname and it was correct.
All logins show "(none)" and so does "/bin/hostname".
