If you want, you are welcome in helping to upgrade such libraries. The
process is very simple by using the buildservice and the associated
tools. I will gladly help you to get you started.

I'm not sure when the cutoff for opensuse 11.4 was, but
looking at the history for libevent, (http://monkey.org/~provos/libevent/)
release candidates for 2.0 started 2010-08-08 with 2.0.6 and ,
with a stable released on 2010-12-16.
It's now up to 2.0.11-stable, but OpenSuse 11.4 only has
version 1.l4.14, from 11 months ago (released 2010-06-07).
Is the cutoff window that long, or did it slip into a crack
or what?
Is libevent-2.0 scheduled for inclusion in OS 11.5?
Factory (what will possibly become openSUSE 12.1 in November) currently
carries 2.0.10:
osc ls openSUSE:Factory libeventlibevent-2.0.10-stable.tar.bz2
libevent.changes
libevent.spec
