Firmware version : 2CV102M3
This firmware revision fixes enumeration and slow-boot issues on SATA 6Gb/s
controllers, adds improvements to S.M.A.R.T. attributes for more accurate
reporting of drive health, improves NCQ capability, and fixes possible
drive hangs when reading S.M.A.R.T. self-test log.

Hi:
Sometimes I get a very weird issue with current kernels and my Intel SSD
80GB (second gen) SSD drive.
Hardware Class: disk
Model: "INTEL SSDSA2M080"
Vendor: "INTEL"
Device: "SSDSA2M080"
Revision: "2CV1"
Under somewhat heavy I/O the kernel "thinks" the drive is broken.

and disconnects it for no more than 2 seconds, system microfreezes and
then resumes working perfectly.
The problem is that it happends barely once a week if any, so it is very
hard to track down,
The drive is less than 4 months old and works flawlessly otherwise.
Is this a SSD firmware, BIOS, SATA controller or kernel bug ?
