Here are the screen-shots i (get lucky in time) can show you that my computer was getting boot-down because of over-heat, after making a (USB) 3G mobile broad connection (sorry for bad title of this thread because i was in a hurry ):
Have you tried USB autosuspend?
By appending "usbcore.autosuspend=1" in the kernel parameter? su -c 'grep autosuspend /boot/grub/menu.lst' Password: kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.37-22-desktop root=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-Hitachi_HTS545032B9A300_091209PBP300Q6ED0V6M-part1 resume=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-Hitachi_HTS545032B9A300_091209PBP300Q6ED0V6M-part6 splash=silent quiet showopts vga=0x317 usbcore.autosuspend=1 The issue still persists. The other question is why the issue never happen (get freezed) in openSUSE 11.3, though the avg residency also reach 100% in powertop's utility? https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/J5Ssi9I2IBMZtaVq6YLR9w?feat=directlink Thanks.
