the error with X11 that prevented factory from working has been solved. i installed from build 0909 a few days ago, got hit by the X11 error and did a "distribution update" from the "factory-tested" repos, which worked. a couple hours ago i switched to the factory repos again, and everything is fine.
there's a few newer builds available in the location i mentioned above, but i haven't tried these. i suspect that at least the latest build will be working & installable.
by the way, in this list top posting is frowned upon, because it makes it more difficult to understand the flow of a discussion, and to insert comments inline.

openSUSE-KDE-LiveCD-x86_64-Buildxxxx-Media.iso
