[opensuse-factory] --download-in default/--download-as-needed invalid

Has this been changed to download-in-advance lately? I doubt any of my
Factory systems have enough freespace for 1084 packages to download before
installing any of them. Can it be configured somewhere so that I don't have
to remember --download-in-heaps or --download-as-needed on cmdline every
time? I don't see any examples in zypper.conf to suggest it can.
zypper1.5.1-2.1 is complaining "Unknown option '--download-as-needed' and "Unknown option '--download-in-heaps', so I have to manually select small groups of packages to in in order to keep enough freespace on / to function.
