Looks like dbus-1.4 is now in the kde4.5 release repo, so I'm going give it a shot.

My effort to upgrade to KDE 4.5 failed because lots of packages in the repo depend on kdebase4-runtime >= 4.5.2
But only .4.5.1 is available in the release repo:
