I could have sworn that partition got a fresh install since then, but the
timestamp on that file does show Sep 2008. O_O
The reason I looked in the first place is trying to help a Meego user on the
intel-gfx mailing list trying to use an 800x480 LCD lacking EDID and getting
no advice that solves his inability to enable that mode.

Where's that doc?
915resolution has been dropped with openSUSE 11.1/SLE11. Looks like you've
updated your system since openSUSE <= 11.0.
